The staff at times was helpful but not all of them were as helpful as you would want them to be. We tend to befriend three nurses that we completely loved that treated my grandmother like family.

She is only there for short term but I hope and pray she gets out soon. I wouldn’t write this but I’m very upset with the fact the executive director has not acknowledged a phone call and I have never met this Trisha person. Oh well after reading other negative comments on her it just seems to be swept under the door like the rest of the comments. My father-in-law was at Grand Oaks Health And Rehabilitation Center for a short time and they were a really good rehab center.

If you're looking for a Medicaid or Medicare type of places, this is a good option for you. The lady who ran Pampered Parents lives in the place even though she didn’t have to. She was absolutely fabulous and even won the assisted living last year for Palm Coast. It was an absolutely beautiful home, well-decorated and really extensive.

After three days of this I have called and left several messages for the executive director who has yet to call me back. I have spoken to a front office person who has assured me she isn’t on vacation and “she gets to you when she gets to you”. They pay this person 120,000 I believe she has circulated and yet she can’t answer a phone call. I am hoping she will leave and they will get the leadership they need per the four different nurses I have spoke with she doesn’t help them she is never there and she doesn’t care about the place. I’m mad because I have also been told by nurses when I call my mother “is one of those difficult patients and we have to force her to take medications”. If you force my mom to take a med I will lose it I told the nurse.
It is so sad that such a nice place offers so little individual care for the residents in the last stages of their lives. No one ever asked the family about special needs of their loved ones. We found her one morning with the air conditioner at 67 and she was dressed in her lightest garments even though she had warner clothing. I requested she be given water because the doctor said she was dehydrated, and the response was that water was put on her tray, but she was blind.
Missed meals because they ran out of food. Anyone was able to come or leave the site without signing. Physical and occupational therapist were great. No phone either I was told to move the bed and jiggle the phone Jack to make it work. Human services and the director or manager were a joke and quite rude. It was very clean, very simple, and very quiet.
