On June 22, 2008, sports columnist Neil Best of Newsday reported that Francesa and Russo were considering ending their radio show. The reports stated that the relationship between the radio duo had soured during Spring 2008, and was the likely cause of the split. Although Russo's contract with WFAN ran until October 2009, Francesa's contract situation was unclear at that time.
"We had done a movie called I'm Dancing as Fast as I Can" many years before that and we became friends on that," recalled Daniel. Being a bully character, Buzz bullies Kevin both physically and verbally.Buzz is more of a verbal bully, mostly resorting to name calling. Examples of these include calling Kevin a phlegm-wad and a trout sniffer, as well as making barfing actions when he bullies Kevin into believing that he has eaten all the cheese pizza that he was supposed to share with him. Because he was forced to watch Kevin while their mother went out,, Buzz decided to torture him by making him clean the fish tank, take out the bins, where he slammed Kevin's hands. Buzz called Kevin names like "cheese face" and "lamebrain" and held Kevin's feet while Megan sat on him. This caused Kevin to leave home and stay with their father and his girlfriend Natalie Kalban at their home for Christmas.

During the game, when the two were shown on the scoreboard, they were loudly booed by the audience in Shea Stadium, primarily because neither of the two were actually Mets fans. Both Francesa and Russo criticized both MSNBC and CBS Radio for dismissing Imus in the middle of the annual WFAN radiothon, which supports three prominent children's charities (the Tomorrows Children's Fund, the CJ Foundation for S.I.D.S. and the Imus Ranch). Since Imus was scheduled to host the radiothon the following morning, the immediate dismissal created a serious scheduling complication. Initially, Francesa reported that both he and Russo would host the radiothon in lieu of Imus; however, this plan was soon amended to allow Imus' wife Deidre Imus, and Charles McCord to host instead.
In 2011 more than 5 million people tuned in to watch it, making it the most watched show to air during the season. In its opening weekend, Home Alone topped the box office, making $17,081,997 in 1202 theaters. The movie maintained its number one spot for a full 12 weeks and remained in the top 10 until June of the following year. It became the highest grossing film of 1990 and earned a Guinness World Record as the highest-grossing live-action comedy ever domestically. It held on to that title for quite some time—27 years, to be exact—until the Chinese blockbuster Never Say Die knocked it out of the top spot in 2017. Macaulay's younger brother Kieran also landed a part in Home Alone, as Kevin’s bed-wetting cousin, Fuller.

Unlike the comedic and incompetent Harry and Marv, these robbers are deadly serious and good at their job, easily avoiding Kevin's traps and killing him, leaving no witnesses. These versions of the characters were also more evil, as they murdered Kevin unprovoked. Daniel Stern, who played Marv in the first two films, was approached to reprise the role of Marv in Home Alone 4, but he declined it after reading the script, calling it "an insult, total garbage.".
Not that the rest of the movie wasn't good, it's just that the end was so spectacular. Till this day the most memorable parts of the movie are the traps Kevin set for the thieves. But of course, my favorite character is the main protagonist Kevin McCallister played well by Macaulay Culkin. I really like that he's not some stereotypical annoying all smiles kid. Kevin really felt like a real kid whom is a relatable character as some of what he's gone though is some of the things that we may have experienced a time or two in our lives when we were kids. It's also another one of my childhood gems, it's was just so much fun for so many reasons but also heartfelt at the same time.
Stance on the Imus–Rutgers controversy
However, a few minutes later, his mother arrived and apologized to Kevin for the way she acted the night before the flight to Paris leaving him all alone in the house and not believing him that Buzz ate all his cheese pizza. After greeting everyone , Kevin walked over to the window, looked out and smiled upon seeing that Marley had taken his advice and made up with his son, thus reuniting him with his family. Suddenly, Buzz shouted, "Kevin, what did you do to my room?!" and Kevin ran away from the window.
Kevin fled after evading Mr. Hector, but was captured by Harry and Marv. Harry took his ticket out of his hand and ripped it to shreds, so that way Kevin could not get back home or to Miami with his family. The duo discussed plans for robbing the toy store that night, before Kevin escaped, having recorded the entire conversation without the Sticky Bandits noticing. This conversation apparently encouraged Kevin to protect his house and face Harry and Marv, setting up booby traps for them. Kevin used a makeshift zipline to get to his tree house and the burglars began chasing him again. Just in time, Old Man Marley intervened and saved him, and shortly later, Harry and Marv were arrested.
According to Chris Columbus, Kevin Nordine did all of the effects for this movie in his parents' basement in Chicago by drawing all of the effects onto the film. When Devin Ratray was asked what happened to Buzz later in life, he said he probably went to prison. The poster and video box image of Kevin with his hands on his face and screaming was improvised by Culkin.
I really love that Kevin retaliated, I'd do the same thing any bully that ever takes away my Cheese Pizza or even video game playing are going to meet Goku and Vegetta ; I know that sounds bold but human right need to be defended. Well Harry is more the smart one of the bunch as it seems like he the only one that really supplies the brain power of their schemes. However, this guy is no genius as his Achilles heel is that he's arrogant thinking he's so clever and listens too much to his own greed which we know both these things can make people stupid or do some stupid crap. Sure, Home Alone may not fit into the traditional canon but it's one of my favorite Christmas movies next to Die Hard of course. In a way, Home Alone and Die Hard share similar themes of survival against the vicious criminals, with the hero using his wits and ingenuity to fight back and ensure the crooks get their just desserts.
The Goodfellas actor played Harry in the first film, one of the two burglars attempting to break into the house of Kevin McCallister , a child who is left behind when his family travel to Paris for the holidays. Kevin managed to escape the cellar and set up a couple of booby traps. When Marv went to try and get Kevin in his bedroom, he fell into another trap and was caught under a cupboard. Marv followed her, but a trapped Molly ordered him to leave Vera and get the kid. Marv was about to do as he was told, but Kevin flew his remote control plane into Marv's crotch, causing him to tumble down the stairs and into Vera. Marv and Vera entered the revolving door also, but ended up being spun around by Kevin and thrown in the air and onto a chandelier.
He is more sadistic as shown when he threatens to bite Kevin's fingers off, "burn his head with a blowtorch", and "smack him right in the face with a paint can" after they captured him in the first movie. In Polish, the movie is called Kevin sam w domu (meaning "Kevin home alone"). In Poland the film "Home Alone" became a phenomenon and part of the Christmas tradition.
Their next altercation occurred on the set of Home Alone 2 when Culkin jokingly asked Pesci why he never smiled. The feud between Culkin and Pesci has inspired the first "The Joe Pesci Show" skit on Saturday Night Live ; the skit ended with Pesci hitting Culkin on the head with a paint can and saying that he laughed when Culkin died in a scene from My Girl. However, Culkin and Pesci held some respect for each other, as Pesci on-set was amazed with how mature and professional Culkin was. He even told Entertainment Weekly, "Mac is not like a nine-year-old. He's an old man already." As fate would have it, Kevin has also made his way to New York, after accidentally boarding the wrong flight while the rest of his family went to Florida for Christmas.
Later, Kevin becomes frightened by his next door neighbor, "Old Man" Marley, who is rumored to be a serial killer who murdered his own family. The McCallister home is soon stalked by the "Wet Bandits", Harry and Marv, a pair of burglars who have been breaking into other vacant houses in the neighborhood. Kevin tricks them into thinking that his family is still home, forcing them to postpone their plans to rob the McCallister house. Home Alone 2 follows Kevin one year after the events of the original film as he accidentally boards a flight to New York City when his family goes on vacation to Florida for Christmas. Sure enough, he runs into criminal pals Harry and Marv and hijinks in Manhattan ensue.
Home Alone: This star almost didn't appear in the movie - details
At home, Buzz makes a false apology, which the family accepts, berating Kevin when he says he retaliated for Buzz humiliating him. Kevin insults his family for believing Buzz's lies and for spending Christmas in a tropical climate, and storms off to the attic, wishing to have his own vacation alone. Set one year after the first film, The McCallister family is preparing to spend Christmas in Miami, and gathers at Peter and Kate's Chicago home.
